What This Position Is All About:

As the Technology Analyst you will be responsible for participating in the roadmap based on the architecture and technology solutions to address the current and emerging compliance requirements of a global organization with retail business across North America and Europe. You will be responsible for improving the posture of enterprise information security, specifically related to Payments, by understanding vulnerabilities, determining security requirements, developing roadmaps, planning and implementing solutions, testing security systems, preparing security standards and procedures, and mentoring other IT teams in the identification and remediation of same. You will have experience in planning and implementation of secure applications in a variety of development environments e.g., traditional, rapid development and deployment, continuous integration, etc. for both customer/vendors facing, i.e., payments, and e-commerce systems.

You Also Have:

  • Minimum 4 years of college, preferably with a degree in Information Systems or IT related fields.

  • Minimum 4 years in an Technology Analyst role (specifically within a retail organization). 

  • An understanding servers, browsers and mobile devices.

  • Knowledge of security tools and processes for software; development lifecycle in agile and traditional methods.

  • A broad understanding of all stages of systems development and product delivery; preferably with a background in Application Architecture covering different technology stacks, platforms and protocols, with an industry recognized IT Architecture qualification (e.g. TOGAF).

  • Experience in development of functional/technical specifications and documentation.

  • Requires on-call support and mediation during off-hours for level 3 support.

  • Current extensive knowledge and experience with credit/debit authorization and settlement solutions across multiple platforms (POS, IVR, Online, Mobile, etc.) and 3rd party banking institutions (Chase, TD, Capital One, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Gift Card processing across multiple platforms (POS, IVR, Online, Mobile, etc.)

  • Knowledge of how the different types of payment (Credit, Debit, Cash, Check, PayPal, Gift Card, etc.) work. 

  • Current knowledge and experience in key security and data requirements and solutions, specifically, PII, PCI, Data retention, vulnerability threats, encryption, tokenization of critical data, etc.

  • Verifone RTS and Fi-Pay Software experience is desirable. 


As the Technology Analyst, You Will:

  • Collaborate with the Application Development team to develop best practices for Roadmaps and Blueprints for Payments Architecture by consulting to projects with regard to security architecture and risk management. 

  • Perform security risk and vulnerability assessments for the group across current application landscape. Work in collaboration with Architecture teams to develop appropriate Architecture patterns, standards and guidelines for current and planned applications. 

  • Assist in developing cost effective solutions that comply with security blueprints and work with Architects to research, review and select new technologies for the organization. Keep abreast of the threats and vulnerabilities and proactively suggest improvements for Payments area by undertaking reviews of stand-alone technologies and 3rd party solutions, providing both strategic and tactical initiatives.

  • Participate in vendor relationships and collaborate with leaders on oversight of third-party proprietary software packages, including evaluations, and recommendations.

  • Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving and further leveraging these systems.

  • Monitor and report progress on initiatives; develop and communicate progress, update on multi-year roadmaps; provide input to budgeting process.

  • Participate in integration, release management and packaging of Store Systems products.

  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

  • Work with cross functional teams to develop and execute test plans for new enhancements/functionality.
